when taking my photos for my magazine contents page i took into consideration the layout of my plan idea from the 'Mojo' magazine contents page that i decided to base my magazine contents page off loosely.

contents page (completed):

i have used red black as the colour scheme as it works well with the cover colour scheme. aswell as the same text though-out to show that they are both part of the same magazine.
the use of the image creates am connection to the artists as it shows us that they are very different as shown by the use of black and white clothing this enhances the saying "opposites attract" this is furthermore shown by the difference in gender. i think this photo works well with the star model/ idea audience of my magazine, as it shows an alternative style preference to music and style.

the layout i have used is strikingly similar to the one of Mojo magazine as i feel this suites the rock look and feel of my magazine but in a more un-sophisticated way as it challages the layout and means of mojo by being more unqiue and different.

before taking pictures we had to sort costumes , props and locations for our shots.

costumes and make up:

i decided on this costume because it a bit of a rock chick and black is a more gothic metal look

as you can see Sophie (my model) is wearing a dress with cut out shoulders giving a more rock and roll look and feel to the look, as well as boots and jeans which work well together as its not something that wouldn't be worn together normally.

doc martins are a popular brand with alternative music artists such as metal heads and goths wear them as they are ideal and look awesome.

skinny jeans are another poplar item of clothing with gothic and emo fashion as they are tight and go with most things.

the make up i used look worn and used as more of a 'i don't care' look and feel to it showing that this magazine isn't for not perfect plastic , this shows a more of a realistic representation of an artist as Sophie (my model) isn't covered in makeup and wearing false eyelashes this shows the more human side to artist showing that they are just normal people like us.

the hair like the make also has a attitude and 'i don't care' feel to it . as to make it look more rock chick and alternative . making the artist look more real and human.

before i took my photos for my music magazine i took a few shots before i decided what exactly i wanted my cover image to be here of some of my tester shots:

the reason i have used red as a primary colour on my magazine cover is that the colour red is s metaphor for seduction, danger and excitement.

          

for the image colour and style i have used a sin city sort of theme to show a rebellious side to the magazine, this show that my magazine is more of a 'niche' magazine appealing to a more alternative music audience.

i have also used red in the eyes and lips to show danger and this shows more of a unique side to this magazine cover catching the audiences attention.

this is this image i used , i used this angle and shot type as i looks alternative compared to the average pop music. whereas metal / rock music magazines show more attitude in the photos as to show more of a realistic side to the artists and bands , making them more like your friend instead of someone who's too famous to even know you. this appeals to more down to earth people. this is why i decided to use this shot as i think it shows attitude aswell as a rock chick look and feel about it.
even though she isn't facing the audience they feel a connection as they can relate to her in the way she dresses or even the way she looks.

i have looked at a number of Mojo magazine music magzine contents pages and iv decided to use this contents page as my inspiration and starmodel magazine because it looks like what you would expect to see in a metal/rock music magazine the use of colours gives this magazine contents page an alternative look and feel. which is exactly what i want for my magazine as its targeted for a simmar audience.

As my cover Image i found this image on pintrest which i want to base my image on , my image will be in black and white but with the eyes and make up in colour like a sin city style image. this style will give of a danger and old fashioned feel to for those who know the well known film will instantly known that the image aswell as representing the band as being abit rebelsious, like the women in sin city will also know that its a black and white film with alot of action and explosions

i plan to take my photos for my cover on next friday in our media room because i want to use a plain background so that my text and heading are easily seen on the photograph.
i have sorted with my model (sophie) times and clothes that she Should wear for the shoot.

i added a light to darker blue gradient background to allow me to put text onto the image clearly, this is so that it would be understood by the audience this would make the text be easily seen.

this not only allows the text to clearly seen but it makes the picture stand out a little making the focus of the magazine cover clear.  

this is my finished magazine cover i used my model (Leon) to break up the text this image shows that its clearly a good school through the use the a computer to show that the school is evovled and has good technolologily this also shows that the school is modern.
i used a basic colour scheme to not confuse the audience this makea it easy on the eyes.this makes this makes my magazine more sophisocated and smart.

i added a from light to dark colour gradient this highlights the three models (Leon , Harry and Allan) as being the centre of attention eventhough then are at the bottom of the contents page this still gives the audience the impression that they are directly the point of intrest.

the colour is calming and a usual color to asoscate with calm and nutral envovments.

i added text that was lighter than the background to make the text standout eventhough the text is lighter it still uses the same type of colour scheme. the text is simple and easy to understand and read as i used a normal font style.

i desided to use the libary as my location choice of my cover photo becasue it looks calm and relaxing this will will give off a postive and happy feel to the magzine and school generally this will make the magzine look more apealling and more likely to be picked up a engaged in.

This is my photo for my school magazine cover , in my shot i used a laptop to show Modern technology as my unique selling point for my school magazine. this shows that my school magazine is up to date , evolved and modernised. this appeals to the young / teenage generation because they can relate to it.

during my research on looking for ideal photos ideas for my magazine cover photo i found a many using unique selling points such as sports and dance so i decided that my magazines USP would be Modern technology such as laptops so this is why i picked this ideal shop to loosely base my school magazine cover on.

this is My School Magazine Cover Plan which i based on a photo i found while doing my research. even though my final shot isn't going to be exactly like the plan it will be based off of it. my plan is basic but gives me a clear visual of how i will take and organise my photo for my school magazine cover.
